Notepad :: Honey Dew

This is the semi-corny notepad design I'm considering printing and putting into pads of 50 or so. Ok, so it's more than semi-corny. And I know I'm a dork for coming up with a notepad that uses such a ridiculous play on words as "honey dew". But to me, it's practical. I know somebody somewhere might even be offended at a spousal to-do list. Probably. But I don't care. My husband isn't offended. He longs for me to write things down for him. It's great for us. I'm a crazy list maker, and he's a crazy list follower. Just ask his boss. :o) So it works for us. At least I like them. I'm also considering making a few other notepads, keeping in the melon family theme. I thought of a watermelon grocery list. Ehh. Nothing corny comes to mind, and for some reason, my mind tells me it needs to be corny to be unified. I don't know. I'm still pondering it. I'd probably print these for release (to sell on etsy) in the Spring. I have other notepad designs that I'm sure I'll upload at some point. :o)

Fashion Inspiration :: The Proposal

So this doesn't fall under "my work," but I do intend to include items that inspire me creatively.

For some reason, fashion inspires me. I am by no means a fashion guru. But for some inexplicable reason, I am drawn to it. I am sure the artist in me wants to present myself in a way that is pleasing to the eye and represents my personality, just as I want my image on paper to be a reflection of who I am. As far as fashion (and really anything, including technology) goes, I don't rush out for the latest ______, but instead, love to hunt for a great bargain on a great unusual find. I am fairly conservative and "safe" as far as the way I present myself in both aspects, but it isn't because I'm boring. That represents who I am! I am just a normal person. I'm not afraid to be edgy at times, so I think that is reflected occasionally, as I do branch out and wear (or design) something unexpected.

I just love this outfit. It looks so well put together, intentional, and COMFORTABLE!

I hardly ever wear yellow. It is so not my favorite color, nor is it the best color on me. However, this sort of goldenrod yellow, lightweight sweater looks somehow refreshing on the beautiful brunette Sandra Bullock. The v-neck of the sweater is pretty classic, but it looks great layered with the gray and white striped, long-sleeved, thermal tee. Of course, the addition of the lightweight, striped scarf, which seems to be a rather popular accessory as of late, complements the gray and white striped thermal. I haven't been bold enough to try wearing scarves in the spring and summer months, though. Maybe I will attempt it the next time I see a bargain on a scarf. As for the shoes, I already love ballet flats, as I currently own 3-4 pairs (which, I'm not a shoe fanatic, so that's a lot for me)! Those black casual pants she is wearing remind me of two pairs I own that are similar. Hers seem to have the little straps that let you adjust how much you want to roll them up and button them in place. That is a great feature because I am always afraid of looking lop-sided as one pant leg unrolls more than the other as I walk (hence why I never roll mine). Regardless, they look even more comfortable than the pairs I own. I shall have to investigate, though hers are likely some unaffordable designer brand.

What inspires me most about this outfit is the color combination. I have a hard time envisioning black, yellow, gray, and white with stripes without thinking of a bumble bee. I shall see if I can come up with a design that looks very non-bee while incorporating these colors. More to come! Thanks for reading. :o)
